West Pymble, NSW 2073

Bordered to the south-west by the idyllic nature lovers’ paradise of Lane Cove National Park, it’s a wonderfully leafy, peaceful suburb that’s loved for its laidback way of life, serene streets and proximity to highly regarded schools.

More affordable than neighbouring Pymble and with a real feeling of sanctuary, its homes are primarily post-war era, giving young families an opportunity to come in and make their mark on properties with large parcels of land and much sought-after sprawling gardens.

As you'd expect from such a family friendly address, there are plenty of recreational attractions and green open spaces, making spending time outdoors and keeping fit an integral way of local life. With the idyllic Lane Cove River meandering through it, the Lane Cove National Park provides a treasure trove of activities to enjoy, from hiking and picnicking to kayaking, row boating and camping.

One of Ku-ring-gai's largest sports and recreation facilities, Bicentennial Park is home to Ku-ring-gai Fitness and Aquatic Centre and West Pymble Bicentennial Club (lawn bowls), and plays host to many community events including Carols in the Park. It's also home to Lofberg Oval and Norman Griffiths Oval, complete with cricket nets, synthetic wicket, soccer/rugby field, netball courts, fitness equipment, walking/cycling tracks and dog off-leash area.

Philip Mall is the local West Pymble shopping village. Upgraded in 2012, this open-air pedestrian mall has two rows of shops with your classic offering of an IGA supermarket, hairdresser, beauty salon, a handful of eateries, greengrocer, baker, pharmacy and the like. The Gordon West Shops are also located in West Pymble, where you'll find a small cluster of shops, services and restaurants, including the ever-popular eatery The Sawmill Restaurant & Pizzeria, with its fashionably rustic recycled brick and timber interiors.

Schools in West Pymble include Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Catholic Primary School and Gordon West Public School, with Pinjarra Pymble Pre-school, Pymble Public School (whose alumni includes actors Hugh Jackman and Chris Lilley), Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School and the distinguished Pymble Ladies' College, located in neighbouring Pymble.

The closest railway station is Pymble, located about 2.5km from the centre of West Pymble, however local bus services run to the more easily accessible Gordon railway station in a loop service. Buses also run to Macquarie University, among other destinations.
