Balmain is an eclectic Inner West peninsula haven steeped in history with regards to its properties, its many local characters and its working class roots.

It's also home to the now abandoned monolith that is the former White Bay Power Station, which looms large as you cross the Anzac Bridge into Balmain from the city. Plans for its redevelopment have been circulating for years.

Local schools are very highly regarded and well supported by the community, which reflects the suburb's transformation into a family favourite. They include Balmain Public School, Montessori Balmain Campus (Preschool and Primary), Nicholson Street Public School, Rozelle Public School, Birchgrove Public School and Sydney Secondary College Balmain Campus.

Balmain's proximity to the city is a huge drawcard, with access either by a quick and picturesque ferry ride from Circular Quay or a short bus or car ride.
